The trapezoid square of Jiřího z Poděbrad forms the centre of the town. The Neo-gothic town hall built in 1872 designed by František Poličanský and adjoining Manor house (1864) with a beautiful Art Nouveau hall belong among the most significant buildings on the square. Both these buildings are the seat of the municipal office nowadays. In front of the town hall there is a sandstone pillory from 1736 worthy of note. The west end of the square is notable for the Neo-renaissance building of the town museum with sandstone façade built as well as the Manor House by the plans of František Karažej. Since 1824 the square has been decorated by a Marian column, the work of a sculptor from Hořice Josef Rychtera. The column was removed in the 1920s and in 2005 it returned to the square. In a small park in the north part of the square there is a fountain called Four Seasons of a Year by Josef Rychtera.
